PSE to hold investor free stock investing seminars in Cebu
THE PHILIPPINE STOCK EXCHANGE (PSE) is set to conduct free stock market seminars in Cebu to spur investor awareness and boost local participation in the stock market.
The seminar entitled “Building Wealth with Stocks: Investing Guide for Beginners” will be held on November 23 at the Cebu Parklane Hotel from 1:00 to 5:00PM.
The PSE will be joined by experts who will talk about the basics of investing, online stock trading, investing in mutual funds, and listing in the PSE.
“The PSE Roadshow in Cebu forms part of PSE’s intensified investor education program to increase local participation in the stock market. Through this financial literacy campaign, the Exchange also hopes to promote the stock market as an effective venue for mobilizing capital for business enterprises outside Metro Manila,” PSE Capital Markets Development Division head Leo G. Quinitio said.
“The PSE has successfully launched its Cebu office intended to reach and educate more Cebuanos about stock trading. We will soon open more satellite offices specifically in Cagayan de Oro and Davao. We are doing this because we believe that there are investors outside Metro Manila who have the disposable income which they can grow in the local equities market,” PSE president and CEO Hans B. Sicat said.
“With our satellite offices in key Philippine cities and a more aggressive education campaign, our dream of a more progressive Philippine stock market will be easier to achieve,” Mr. Sicat added.
